SUMMARY:Youth Group
DESCRIPTION:Youth Group is open to all students in 6-12th grade – whether 
 you go to our church\, another church\, or no church. We meet in the Youth
  Room at the end of the hall in the Parish Center. Youth Group typically i
 nvolves reflecting on the Gospel reading for the coming Sunday and then pl
 aying games\; we also do service projects (like decorating cookies for the
  homebound!).

DESCRIPTION:Trip Info\nThis is the 43rd Kentucky Youth Mission Trip! This 
 trip has evolved over the years\, from a weekend trip\, where we dropped o
 ff clothing and other items for the resale store at Christian Social Servi
 ces\, to the current trip in which we spend a week in Morehead and the sur
 rounding Appalachia area doing service projects with Christian Social Serv
 ices\, Habitat for Humanity\, and other local service organizations. \n\nK
 YMT Basics\nDepart: Sunday\, June 14 after 8:30am Mass from St. Elizabeth\
 ; attending Mass together\nReturn: Friday\, June 19\, early evening\nCost:
  $450 - Students who help with fundraisers get a discount\; the last two y
 ears everyone has gone FREE.\nWe carpool down and stay in the basement of 
 Jesus Our Savior Church on Morehead State University’s campus. Our require
 d chaperone (21+) to child ratio is at least 1:6 (determined by space in v
 ehicles). All sleeping arrangements are divided by gender. \n\nWho can go?
 \nAll youth 13-17 years old\, as well as young adult leaders (18-20 year-o
 lds) and adults who wish to chaperone (aged 21 and older). \nOur group siz
 e will be determined by how many chaperones we have sign up as well as how
  many projects we have lined up. Our current team is Heather Marsh\, Jeff 
 Waterbury\, Mackenzie Cytlak\, Wayne Ahlers and BIll Kalmeta. \n \nFundrai
 sing\nCurrently\, there is our Valentine Dinner (February 13)\, a euchre t
 ournament (March 22) and our Mother's Day brunch (May 10). Additional fund
 raisers may be scheduled\, depending on the group size. All funds will be 
 split amongst those who volunteer at the fundraisers (the total amount rai
 sed will be divided by the total number of hours worked and each child wil
 l earn $/hour). In the past\, most of our participants raise their entire 
 trip cost.\nThere are also optional fundraisers for those who would like t
 o put money directly toward their personal trip cost. \n\nIf you have any 
 additional questions about the trip Heather Marsh will be happy to answer 
 them.
